Movies about real historical events and persons from everyday perspective are cool. This one's about the legendary French director Jean-Luc Godard (played by Louis Garrel) reaching middle-age and marrying a young girl (Stacy Martin). It turns out Goddard, idolized by movie lovers and critcs, turns out to be the immature one in the relationship. Like any good movie about relationships should, 'Le redoutable' has both moments of laughter and soul wrenching drama. But above all, this is a character portrait of a increasingly domineering and unpleasant man. Writer-director Michel Hazanavicius approaches the study of the character from the deep psychological standpoint. He does not offer some easy and populist way of explaining the reasons behind tormented genius's growing disagreeableness over time. Just like in real life, there's no one single cause for how one behaves, especially not something external that would be easy to blame and would adequately summarize everything that's going on in human soul (bad influence, broken heart etc). If the viewer is not willing or able to go that deep, there's still enough going on to justify the time spent. The movie is humorous - especially in the first half - and offers a vivid overview about how destructive immature people can become in loving relationship if they wrestle with power and intimacy issues. In Godard's character, I found much of myself and what I've had to wrestle with in relationships - and still have to. So watching it was a bit depressing for me, for probably nobody enjoys seeing one's ow faults so clearly from aside (in others). The second half turns increasingly darker in mood and get exhausting because there's basically only one situation filling the story which gets repeated over and over again. The lack of variety is the reason of me hesitating to give it higher score than 7 out of 10. The story centers mostly on Godard and young wife, Anne Wiazemsky, and their performances are really good. These are demanding roles because the marital discord doesn't grow from one explosive conflict to another but accumulating stress and tension between two people, expressed mostly in subtle bodily or facial impressions that the camera eagerly catches. This kind of inner burning based suspense is surely difficult to build on screen, and both stars are really good at it (with the help of the director, of course). I enjoyed Stacy Martin's performance especially, for in a way, she has fewer resources to build the character than Garrel whose Godard does most of the talking. Martin gives a beautifully restrained but emotive performance as the ever-suffering wife. She's the emotional backbone of the story and probably the one thing you'll remember the best from the movie. Based on the memoir of Anne Wiazemsky, who became a novelist and published the book on her life with French cinema genius in 2015. Godard lives on, but she passed away just weeks ago, October 5th this year, succumbing to battle with breast cancer at the age of 70. Michel Hazanavicius is best known for 'The Artist' that got nominated for ten Oscars, and won five, in 2012, including for the best movie and director. Courtesy of Ex-files 3. Before we sit down in the theater, we know pretty much exactly what happens. Two girls go scuba diving in a shark cage and wind up a trapped in said cage 47 meters below the surface. Since they aren't experts, we know how they will react. Then sharks show up. Since they are sharks in a scary movie, we know how they will react. There is no real room for surprises. If you expect rampant plot twists and character development, you must not see this type of movie often. It is what it is and it knows that. Despite the only real mystery being which of the girls survives, if any, or perhaps both, the movie actually manages to provide a refreshing twist. That may sound bold to say when talking about a powerfully simple shark attack movie, but take some time to think about it. The twist is secretly ingenious and explains away many of the ghastly errors in believability. I'm surprised to find myself defending a movie that I didn't really like all that much. It's not that movie doesn't deserve criticism. It certainly does. The acting performances earn failing grades across the board. The dialogue is laced with embarrassing over explanations and repeated lines, most of which involve warnings from the captain about the bends. Other times this takes the form of the girls obnoxiously narrating the menial tasks as they carry them out. Once or twice might have been fine, but it's tough to stomach after about the 10th time or so. My thought on this is maybe the filmmakers knew that it was too dark to see what was going on for most of the movie, so they made the girls say aloud everything that they did. This solution makes about as much sense as going on a five-mile run after knowingly drinking spoiled milk. TIME FOR TENNIS? Borg v McEnroe UK release date is TODAY! Trailer, age rating, runtime and who’s in the cast with Shia LaBeouf. Watch video The Guardian - Back to home. • Borg/McEnroe was screened at the Toronto film festival and is released 22 September in the UK. An international trailer for the upcoming sports drama has been released online. The game of tennis has been more underrepresented in the movies than perhaps any other sport. There was the Paul Bettany/Kirsten Dunst romantic comedy Wimbledon in 2004, and the absurdist HBO comedy in 2015. Others have briefly touched on the game, such as Match Point, and even Strangers on the Train. The only exception has been a couple of different movies over the years about the 1973 inter-gender match between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King. Another one, – with Steve Carell and Emma Stone – is set for release this September. Also coming this year is, a Swedish-produced film about the rivalry between Swede Bjorn Borg and American John McEnroe, and most specifically their Wimbledon match in 1980. Now, we have a new look at the film, directed by Danish filmmaker Janus Metz Pedersen, in which Swedish star Sverrir Gudnason plays Borg and. Both actors are dressed in a reasonable approximation of the two real players; we see LaBeouf with McEnroe’s signature curly hair and headband, and he even says the tennis star’s famous catchphrase, “ you cannot be serious.” There’s also tennis action as well as training montages. That 1980 match between McEnroe and Borg, which Borg won in five sets, is widely considered the best tennis match ever played, and took place at a time when tennis was at its height. Will people want to see a movie about tennis at a time when the game isn’t exactly in its prime anymore, and the heritage of feature films about tennis isn’t exactly robust? The film seems likely to be a hit in Sweden at least, since it was made there and celebrates one of that nation’s great athletic heroes. And the film has quite an amazing true story to draw upon, including two compelling protagonists- even if it does seem to be taking at face value a lot of the same cliches that 7 Days in Hell was making fun of. And beyond that, is some truly inspired casting. Source: Empire Magazine. The first class compartment of the December 1935 departure of the Orient Express from Istanbul is full, unusual for this time of the year. Regardless, famed and fastidious Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot, who needs to get back to London immediately, is able to secure last minute passage in the compartment with the assistance of his friend, Signor Bianchi, one of the directors of the train line who is also making the trip. Some of the first class passengers seem concerned about Poirot's presence on the train. At least one of them has reason to be concerned, as later, another first class passenger, who earlier in the trip asked Poirot to provide protection for him due to several death threats, is found murdered in his stateroom by multiple stabbings. Der Orientexpress nimmt in Istanbul Passagiere auf und bleibt auf freier Strecke irgendwo im Balkan im Schnee stecken, die Passagiere sind in den Waggons eingeschlossen. From the novel by best-selling author Agatha Christie, 'Murder on the Orient Express' tells the tale of thirteen strangers stranded on a train. At the time the victim is found, the train is unexpectedly stopped and delayed due to snow in remote Yugoslavia, which may be problematic for the murderer in getting away now that Poirot is on the case, which he is doing as a favour to. I love murder mysteries. I'm a sucker for them whether it's reading a book or seeing a movie. 'Murder on the Orient Express' is one of the best murder mystery movies ever made. Based on the novel by mystery sleuth Agatha Christie, it takes you on a ride by train where we meet an assortment of colorful characters all traveling on the Orient Express. When one of these characters is murdered, the rest become suspects. And it's up to famed Belgian detective Hercule Poirot to solve the crime. 'Murder on the Orient Express' has an intriguing script, good direction, and a spectacular cast to boot. Albert Finney is picture perfect in his Oscar nominated portrayl of the fussy Poirot. While watching Finney in this movie, I can't believe that this is the same man who played Julia Roberts' boss in 'Erin Brockovich' because he's so unrecognizable here. Finney is supported by an all-star cast of mostly familiar faces. Of the actors playing the suspects, Lauren Bacall scores highest as an annoying American woman who talks loud and isn't afraid to say what's on her mind. Also good: the great Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar (her third overall) for her small performance as an African missionary; and Martin Balsam as the director of the line and Mr. Poirot's personal friend. If you get disorted sound then you definitly do not have the “Proper Version”. Then you have a version with a different playlist. Also, an online version is never a “Proper Version”. Most ISO files you can download with Lionsgate content are fucked up and wrong. As I ever and ever and ever suggest: Check first the playlist your copy plays. Then make a rip of this track and try to remove Cinavia. You will get no disorted audio. If you get disorted audio you are wrong with what you did. All this is the sense of ScreenPass Protection! How to get playlist: 1.) Start Procmon.exe (Download at ) 2.) Set Filter “Path” to “Contains” to “mpls” and set to “Include” 3.) Start PowerDVD 12-16 4.) Step forward to main menu 5.) Start the movie and while playing main movie check Procmon.exe window abbout the playlist •. I cannot really understand what you wrote. The procmon is a software that monitor the file access. I do not know any way to emulate a ghost file access on a static file system like a Blu-ray. The only way I know is to go the random plalyist way. So with different play attemps another playlist is used. But this will cause that the movie play different each time. So also not really possible. Now what is the problem. From 10 people, 5 can use the database and 5 not. 5 have the same playlist and perfect results and 5 have echos or disorted audio. Disorted audio is an issue when there is additional audio in the movie. Now I ask myself, why the 5 people do not: 1.) Check the playlist with procmon 2.) Upload their audio so we can do a binary compare? You, the users have to understand that this is a protection. The results people claim here are exact the target of this portection. But because CinEx HD do not crack any protection we cannot do anything. If you use copies, this have been fixed by your copy solutions. The only thing we can recommend is to make movie only copies. But this I tell you people since a long time. However, I will add in future CRC32 keys to the database so you can first check whether your title set audio has the same CRC32. If the playback is different that you have to do a movie only copy. Hi ADMIN, I think the CRC32 keys will be helpful, although you will need to help people understand how they can generate those CRCs. I also believe that you are correct that it is the newer versions of PowerDVD and the newer ScreenPass together that have this playlist buried in a cache issue somewhere that I read about. Anyway, I love the databases that you are releasing. Keep up the good work! I would also advise people that I think some of the issues with databases matching but the echos/whispers is related to bad decryption of Screenpass by either Passkey or AnyDVDHD. That is my suspicion, and maybe some of the databases that you generate that have been more of a problem are related to either bad images or bad audiiocopies being sent up by testers based on bad decryption. Just a guess, but those seem to be the most problematic for me •. This is the version i got online. I ran procmon and it showed me playlist 440 for the main movie. The only thing i did not do is rip the track as you suggested and try to remove cinavia. I just did what i have always done with other movies. Select the whole folder using cinexhd utility so that i can have the menu and previews and stuff and then select the appropriate playlist to remove cinavia and then hit start. This only happens with lionsgate movies. I have never had any other issues with other movies never. Let me know if i need to do something different. Hi Admin, I don’t think that pdiaz014 ever said that CinEx HD was “crap.” He said that he believes that he has a “good torrent” with the correct BD playlist, and when applying the database, it didn’t turn out right.
